Coca-Cola has come up with a brand new and unique flavour inspired straight from the metaverse called Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte.
With NFTs and metaverses quickly on the rise, more and more companies are trying to get a piece of the cake one way or another. Now, Coca-Cola has jumped in on the hype train and has launched a new Coca-Cola flavour.
The limited-edition Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte is the company’s latest attempt at making a drink for the meta life and is being described as a ‘pixel-flavoured’ beverage born in the metaverse.

The recent few years have seen the immense rise in popularity of digital space which has led many to believe that the metaverse is the future. Now, to let players feel and taste what it’s like to be in this new virtual world, Coca-Cola has come up with a brand new beverage.
The new flavour called the ‘Zero Sugar Byte’ is currently on sale via the brand’s Creations website but is being sold as a limited edition item with only 25,000 twin packs available.
Via Coke’s website, Zero Sugar Byte introduces “the flavour of pixels to life” in a soda that “transcends the digital and physical worlds”. Coke’s Senior Director of Global Strategy calls the new drink “an innovative taste inspired by the playfulness of pixels, rooted in the experiences that gaming makes possible.”
If that didn’t make it clear enough, the company is describing the taste of the new Zero Sugar Byte as a “bright, upfront taste is reminiscent of powering up a game, and its refreshing finish makes for a perfect gaming companion.”
The overall packaging also matches the theme and the vibe Coca-Cola is trying to sell. The well-known Coca-Cola logo is pixelated, while the can is a lilac-coloured can. There’s also a code on the package of the soda which can be scanned to access an 8-bit AR game that will reveal the story of Byte.
To mark the launch of the limited-edition Zero Sugar Byte flavour, the company has joined hands with Fortnite to design Pixel Point, an in-game island created by Coca-Cola and gaming organization PWR.
The island takes advantage of Fortnite Creative, allowing players to enter the island and participate in four mini-games designed to please the senses. These games include The Castle, The Escape, The Race, and The Tower and will demand teamwork to advance further.
